Since being founded in 2009, Compañía de Circo “eia” has established itself as one of the most significant Spanish and European contemporary circus companies. Dedicated to creating performances that speak to the widest possible public about the complexity of human relationships, their work combines diverse circus and dance disciplines executed with precision. The prizes they have received speak to the success of their work. They are the recipients of the Barcelona City Award (2011) for “research and innovation in the field of contemporary circus”; the juried Special Prize (2016) from the Spanish magazine Zirkolika for inTarsiand the MAX Price (2017), also for inTarsi (this prestigious Spanish award is named after Max Estrella, a character in the play Bohemian Lights).
